Jewelry photography for Paris based jewelry designer Lisa Motte

15 March 2021

At the beginning of 2021, I worked alongside Empara, a french based e-learning platform, and production company, to create a still life photography course. As part of the course, we wanted to collaborate with talented entrepreneurs, designers, or small companies. I stumbled upon Lisa Motte’s creations, and I fell in love right away and wanted to work with her. Her jewels are stunning! Working with such beautiful products has the ability to supercharge my creativity, and it didn’t take too long to find the inspiration for the shoot.

The idea was to recreate the leaves of her jewels with something and create some contrast with it. To create something as contrasty as possible, I needed to find something soft, mat, and dark. Black paper sheets were the perfect combination of these criteria while retaining the original leaves concept. A few hours of DIY later, we were ready to create some magic using a bit of paper, some hot glue, and solid knowledge of lighting.
